This FAQ section has been designed to help with our most popular questions.

    1. Shipping:  We aim to ship all orders within 18 hours of receipt - Monday to Friday.  By default, shipping on orders of £60.00 or over is FREE in the UK and is sent using either Royal Mail or one of our trusted couriers, depending on order value and weight. The services we use are fully insured and tracked. Delivery can be upgraded to Next-Working-Day if needed during the checkout (Mon-Thurs).  Saturday delivery is also available if ordered before 2PM on Friday (excluding public holidays). Please see our dedicated Delivery Information page for more details.
    2. International Shipping:  International shipping rates are displayed during the checkout.  Enter your full address and pricing will be visible.  If your country isn't listed, please contact us for a custom quote.
    3. Adding to existing orders:  If your order has been marked as dispatched or fulfilled and you wish to add further items to it, there is an 'add-to-order' fee of £2.00.  This is to cover staff and packaging costs to alter your order.
    4. Discount Codes:  Our discount codes do not (unless specified) offer further discounts off Special Offer products.  If you apply a discount code to a basket of products which includes special offer products you may get an error to say: "This coupon cannot be used with these items..."  To solve this, simply remove the special offer products, then apply the discount code, then re-add the special offer products and your discount will be applied to the non special offer products.
    5. PCI Compliance: Clean and Shiny UK Ltd. is fully compliant with all Data Security Standards.  Credit/Debit card payments made through our website are handled by Stripe, which is a PCI Level 1 service provider. Level 1 is the most stringent level of certification available in the payment industry. Furthermore, every page on the Clean and Shiny website is also secured by the latest SSL encryption (look for the green padlock or URL strip on your web browser). If you place a phone order your credit/debit card details are destroyed once payment has been confirmed.
    6. Sponsorship:  Clean and Shiny opens up sponsorship applications at the beginning of every car show season, stay tuned!
    7. Trade Accounts:  We are happy to support detailers operating on a professional basis.  We ask that you have Public Liability Insurance and have a website showcasing your work and any accreditations you have been awarded.  For full terms and conditions and to apply, please visit the Trade Section.
    8. Detailing Services:  We're primarily a retail business, however we do offer a range of detailing services, from maintenance washes to full new-car protection details.  Please contact us for more information.
    9. What does 'pH Neutral' mean?  You'll see "pH neutral" written on a number of product descriptions, mainly on Snow Foams and Shampoos.  'pH neutral' means a product is neither alkaline nor acidic; it's smack-bang in the middle of the pH scale.  Simply put, it will not strip off any wax or sealant protective layers, making it perfect for maintenance washes or detailing processes where a pH neutral product is required.
    10. How do I know if my vehicle has a ceramic coating?  If you don't have any paperwork or receipts that would suggest a ceramic coating has been installed, the only other way to tell is visually.  Ceramic coatings, by default, repel scratches and swirls.  If your vehicle has a ceramic coating it's very likely that you should have swirl-free paint.  Additionally, if you've just acquired the vehicle, we will always suggest to double-check with the previous owner if you're still not sure.
    11. What's the best way to take care of my microfibre towels? If possible, we recommend washing all microfibre towels before first use. A dedicated microfibre wash will aid with this. The general rule of thumb is to not wash microfibre products with any other kind of material, meaning wash only microfibre products (towels, applicators, etc.) together.  Mixing microfibre products with other materials will reduce the microfibre strand effectiveness and overall life. Separate towels depending on their use, so if you've used some towels for wheels, wash them together. If you've got a range of towels used for your paint, wash those together. This way you avoid the risk of cross-contamination. Take a look at our dedicated blog where we go into more detail.
    12. You stock a lot of products measured in 'oz' ... what does that equal to, exactly?  Great question!  Chemical Guys, Meguiar's and P&S products are measured in 'oz' (fl. oz), specifically 4oz, 16oz and 32oz. This is because they are manufactured in the USA.

      Smaller bottles:
      4oz = 118ml
      8oz = 236ml
      16oz = 473ml
      32oz = 946ml

      Larger bottles:
      64oz (Half US Gallon) = 1.89 Litres
      1 US Gallon = 3.78 Litres

      If you're ever stuck for fluid measurement conversions, Google will help you with this automatically, or use a website such as ConvertUnits.com.

    13. Do I need an iron fallout remover if I don't have alloy wheels? Yes, as iron fallout lands on any wheel as it mostly comes from your brake discs. You'll also need to use a fallout remover on your paint, glass and trim at some point as well. Fallout/brake dust is harder to see initially if, for example, you have black steel wheels, but you'll see a reaction take place as most fallout removers turn a purple/red colour.
